À propos de la revue

An e-Journal of Archaeology and History of the Balkans in Late Antiquity
The Chronicles of Haemus (CoH) is a digital journal dedicated to the archaeology and history of the Balkans in Late Antiquity. Established in 2025 under the aegis of the HAEMUS International Research Network (HAEMUS-IRN) and published by the French School at Athens (École française d’Athènes), the journal provides an interdisciplinary and transnational platform for exploring the political, economic, and cultural transformations that shaped the region during the transition from the Roman to the Byzantine world.
With a strong international orientation, CoH welcomes original contributions in multiple languages and seeks to foster scholarly dialogue among researchers working on this pivotal period in European history. Through case studies, thematic syntheses, and the presentation of new archaeological discoveries, the journal highlights the complexity and diversity of regional dynamics across the late antique Balkans.
Fully digital, multilingual, and continuously published, The Chronicles of Haemus reflects the most up-to-date research conducted by the member institutions of the HAEMUS network throughout the Balkan Peninsula. It serves as a space for academic exchange and cooperation, promoting cutting-edge research and enhancing our collective understanding of a strategically important and historically rich region.
